The HItchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

This weekend was the open for The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

We were waiting with mild skepticism for this one. I'm happy to report that it was terrific!

The credits give Douglas Adams as writer of the Screenplay, dunno if that's true because I believe he had passed by the time this was made. The story covers pretty much the whole first book, ends with a hint at a sequel, we'll see, fingers crossed.

There is proper homage to the original BBC television production in the form of the original theme music, the set design of the Heart of Gold, and buried in a cueue is the original Marvin, the Paranoid Android.

The scenes of the planet factory are wonderful, Zaphod is characterized very well, and the voicing of the "new" Marvin by Alan Rickman are not to be missed. Casting was perfect, with the most surprising being Mos Def as Ford Prefect. He's great.

I can't remember the last time I wanted to see a movie twice, but I want to see this one again!

Till next time!
